An educator in the field of peace education who disseminates her knowledge and years of experience to teachers throughout the industry, Dr. Betty Reardon received the El-Hibri Charitable Foundation's Peace Education Prize on October 2, 2013, at an invitation-only ceremony held in Washington, D.C.
The annually conferred Peace Education Prize awards $20,000 to innovators and public servants such as Dr. Reardon, who more than earned the award's distinction and cash prize. Considered a pioneer in peace studies, she has published hundreds of articles, guides, and books on the field. She also engineered and operated educational programs and networks designed to keep peace leaders in contact and up-to-date on trends and relevant current events.
