Summer 2018 marks the 12th anniversary of the annual El-Hibri Charitable Foundation’s Peace Education Prize, an award bestowed upon an inspiring, committed individual in the United States whose work focuses on creating strong, diverse communities that demonstrate inclusion and collaboration. Nominations are made online through the foundation’s website, and winners must meet a number of meaningful criteria to be considered for the honor.
The 2018 Peace Education Prize was awarded to Harvard University senior public policy lecturer Dr. Marshall Ganz, whose long history as an activist and community organizer includes collaboration with Cesar Chavez on farmworkers’ rights. Dr. Ganz is also responsible for the training of more than 800 community leaders around the world through an online university course.
Past prize winners have included presidential advisory council members, movie directors, international activists, authors, and leaders within organizations like the International Interfaith Peace Corps.
